Speak Up. Fear of being seen.

"What's your relationship with being SEEN? Speaking or presenting yourself and your work in public? Particularly when expressing their true selves or challenging societal norms.

At its core, it addresses the fear of rejection or even persecution that historically accompanied speaking out against oppression or expressing individuality. However, this fear isn't just a rational concern; it's deeply ingrained in our bodies and emotions, residing in our collective subconscious.

It's a fear that can't always be reasoned and met on a mind level but is instead felt on a visceral level. "Visceral" refers to something deeply felt on gut level or instinctual, often at a physical or emotional level. It describes experiences or reactions that are intense, raw, and instinctive, originating from deep within one's subconscious and often overrides all good intentions of our intellectual or rational mind.

Addressing this fear may require approaches that engage with the body and emotions, such as somatic therapy or bottom-up therapeutic methods. By exploring these deep-seated fears from a holistic perspective, individuals may find ways to express themselves more authentically without being paralysed by the fear of rejection or ostracism.

P.S.

This is a "CENSORED" ART piece – NIPPLES covered up! Because on social media, a glimpse of artistic nudity is like unleashing the devil. Heaven forbid someone sees a painted nipple! Just another example of how speaking truth or being "naked" – whether literally or metaphorically – can land you in exclusion from the social tribe or result in "burning at the stake".
